It is hard to tell from your decription, but you may be flashing incorrectly.

Also, try using the newst bios version for your board on Abit's website: KR79N instead of the older KR76N file.

i have the exact same CPU and Mobo

you just need the new BIOS

but even with the default BIOS

it should detect the XP 2000 just fine.

right now i'm using the latest 9N BIOS

when you run the BIOS update

use the *.bat file and not the *.exe file

try that

and get the 9N BIOS instead

:t

ftp://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/download/fae/kr7a9n.exe

unzip all the files to a clean bootable FDD made with

FORMAT A: /S

then copy this files to it

awdflash.exe
Kr7a_9n.bin
abitfae.bat
runme.bat
kr7a_9n.txt

then only run the

runme.bat
or
abitfae.bat

:D

simple

Thanks all managed to get it sorted in the end, i used KR7A7G BIOS UPDATE using command line A:\>AWDFLASH KR7A_7G.BIN it worked in the bios was the XP2000+ setting in CMOS... Then i stumbled across another problem my ATI Radeon 8500 was conflicting with IRQ of the serial bus controller as soon as i loaded the drivers for the graphics & restarted got a black screen with the slow trailing mouse arrow, The default setting on the ABIT KR7A Raid is Enabled for the VGA & USB i diabled the IRQ for the USB & it worked fine:t :t :t now were cooking THANKS ALL who took time out to write;) :D :D BRENNN
