winmedia player 7

When I install the new winmedia player my music cds play slower and seem to jerk and skip. The only way to get them to play properly is to uninstall winmedia player 7. I would like to use this media player so any ideas on how to get it working would be gratefully recieved.

When I first installed media player 7 everything was fine - for a couple of weeks that was. Then, each time I opened it it would try an play a cd or video file but the whole computer would freeze up, restarting was the only way out.
I uninstalled and reinstalled several times but the problem was still there. I hadn't installed anything else as far as I know that conflited with it.
I've now gone back to version 6.4 which is perfect. A lot of other people on this forum have trouble with 7 too.
I wish I knew what the problem was as it seemed a good player!
