I am having trouble with the spacebar and the letter "M" on my Gateway 1150 laptop.the keys aren't sticking. And I reinstalled the
drivers. It will work interittedly, then stop all together.I am able to use the on-screen keyboard fine. Its driving me up the walls!

M is for MALICE...:P

The problem can be easily resolved, as it is not even your problem....it is between your chair and monitor http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

If the key is sticking on just the letter m it is probably a keyboard problem = buy new one.

I was not clear on what exactly is the problem with my keyboard. Nothing happens when I press the spacebar and the letter 'm'. Also it is a laptop so just replacing the keyboard isn't as easy as it sounds.

Still, it sounds like a keyboard problem. How old is the laptop? Is it still under warranty? I would call Gateway for help, whether under warranty or not.

BTW, I had the "6" key die on me once, and there was a "6" in the password I used to access my ISP. That sure was a pain until I realized the problem was the kybd and ditched it.

As a temporary fix, can you plug an external keyboard into your laptop?
