Plustek 9636T and XP

Plustek 9636T scanner won't work in XP. I have read some groups that suggest the latest Win2k drivers from Plustek.de. Many say that they work. I have downloaded them and installed but the scanner isn't recognized. I cannot install the scanner using the add/remove hardware in control panel either. I browse to find the .inf file but can't seem to locate it. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated no matter how trivial they may seem.
