I am leaning toward the Umax Astranet e3470
($99.00). Is anybody using this? Do you like it? Any recommendation on this price range (maybe I little higher)?

Depending upon the detail you actually need, $99 should get you a fairly decent scanner. It's one item that over the years that has dropped faster in price than other peripherals.

I did a little looking around and what I decided on was the HP 3400Csi. In the reviews it was rated as either the best or right up there for picture scanning (ZDNet/Cnet).

Order it from www.staples.com, (http://www.staples.com,) list price $98.**, throw in a ream of cheap paper or something else to bring the price over $100. Use the $30 off coupon and it brings the price down to $70.

I've set it up and been using it for a couple of weeks and it works GREAT! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif (And I can't complain about the price since shipping was the next day and free!)
