add router 300 down 107 up.

change rwin to 29400 or close

why did router switch slow me down?

Check for a firmware upgrade at www.linksys.com (http://www.linksys.com) is your model the BEFSR41? try here http://www.linksys.com/download/firmware.asp?dlid=1
My guess is that since your router/switch is also probably a firewall that could partly account for the slowdown.

ok, thanks but i did that already.

Linksys tech states that is should not slow down. I thought it might too.

Anyway 860-960 down and 370-460 up seems very high for basic DSL - do you still get those kind of numbers if you remove the router?

The lower numbers seem closer to reality for basic DSL service, perhaps you mistakenly got the deluxe service for a while and when your provider discovered the mistake you got bumped down a notch. Maybe the timing of router installation was just a concidence. My DSL provider can give me that kind of speed too -but for an extra $40 a month ($79).

time of day has not affected it much.

I have extended dsl 1000 down and 500 up.

If i remove the router, the speed goes up to 960 and down 460 approx. varies a little.

Definately something to do with router i would think?
