when I open certain pages in IE I get the following 2 prompts: Do you want allow software such as Active X controls and plug ins to run; Y or N AND;

A script is accessing some software (an ActiveX control) on this page which has been marked safe for scripting. Do you want to allow this? Y or N

I must have done something inadvertently when I was setting the security features in IE. I also have Shockwave macromedia player loaded on here, if that helps any.

Im just trying to figure out how to get rid of the prompts and make sure this is still running right. Any ideas as to what happened and how to fix this? Thank you for your assistance.

WinXP from the tool bar in IE go to TOOLS, select SECURITY OPTIONS then go to the SECURITY TAB you will see four icons there and near the bottom of the dialogue box select the CUSTOM LEVEL button. From here you can set actions for IE to take when it encounters Active x controls. (You will need to repeat the steps for each icon) For a simpler solution from the tool bar in IE go to TOOLS, select SECURITY OPTIONS then go to the SECURITY TAB next to the CUSTOM LEVEL button there is a DEFAULT LEVEL button. The DEFAULT LEVEL for WinXP is set to medium and at medium you will not receive the popups.

Sorry... the directions are for IE 6 although the steps are similar for earlyer versions of IE.
