I am curious. When you damage a cpu, does it stop working? Is it one of those things that either works, or it doesn't? Or is it more complicated? Also, if a cpu "overheats" and the system crashes, is the cpu damaged or fried or whatever? Please reply many thanks.
:) :t :D

if you damage the CPU, a number of things can happen. it may work fine in windows, but if you start playing a game, or anything else that is CPU intensive, it may crash. the PC may not even start at all. the PC just may be very unstable. the PC may seem to function normal, but if you were to create a spreadsheet, the formulas may start to generate errors.

remember way back when intel had their floating point units botched in their processors and had to do a recall? well, they appeared to be working fine, but the decimal calculations were off by a small amount, and over time, that small amount adds up and may lead to fatal errors.
