Ther System Restore utility in my Windows XP is not creating any restore points for some reason.

The utility IS turned on. I am monitoring the max disc space (12%). Ive been checking it frequently and it never has any restore points setup.
I believe all my settings are correct unless I am missing something.

I did completely format my Seagate Barracuda IDE drive and reinstall fresh XP one time a month ago. System restore worked fine before then.

I also run MCaffe quick clean to clean up my drives. I wonder if that did anything to it.

If I do have a problem(even),
it sure has me stumped

:t Any input or knowledge of this?

Go here (http://www.dougknox.com/) for a possible solution. There's a good chance that McAfee removed the registry settings for system restore. "Cleanup" utilities often make unwanted registry changes and should be used with caution.

Outstanding.

Apparently there were 4 incorrect registry entries that makes the System Restore calendar not visible.

I used SysRestoreCalendar.zip. The GUI utility checked my registry entries and then repaired them.
Now my system restore points are visible. Im going to be real careful with quick clean from now on.

Thanks alot for the great link.
