So u dont get ur fingers chopped off if ur dumb enuf to stick ur fingers on there?
Whats the point of a fan grill?
Im planing to get an interal fan for my CPU and im wondeirng if i need grills for my fans

if it's internal, probably not, but some cases now have fans that are like blow holes.. and those have grates on them to keep fingers out... it's mostly directed towards little kids wandering hands.
that's all I know about it though

Nope,you don't need grills for an internal fan....unless you have problems with cockroaches!

It does help keep cables out of the whirling blades. If you are careful with the routing of cables and the placement of your appendages when they are placed in a running machine, there is no real need. Unless of course you like the shiney chrome rings. (fairly shiney, somewhat useful)
