Notebook Car Adapters?

Do car adapters for notebooks that plug into the cigarette lighter work well? I worry about power fluctuation depending on the RPMs of the engine. Anybody had expereince with these adapters?

I use a small power inverter. Plug it into the cigerette lighter and out comes 110 AC, works well!

I have a 140 watt unit.

When checked with a Quality Digital Voltmeter, the voltage was stable within 0.1 volt DC or 1/10 of a volt.

This was when starting the vehicle too, massive drain on the battery did NOT affect the output..
