This seems pretty stupid but I have not been able to get Win ME to read an audio CD in anything but analog mode since I installed it. I had both 95 & 98SE and they worked fine for digital audio but for some reason ME just doesn't want to do it. I have tried both a 16 and 36x drive with no luck. I updated my sound card drivers (Ensoniq PCI) and that still didn't help. Anyone with similar probs out there?

PS - The Creative EAX feature also seems to be disabled with the new OS even after the upgraded drivers from Creative.

(I just reread your post here and realized that I may be totally barking up the wrong tree, but perhaps its worth a try)

If your motherboard uses a VIA chipset you might try updating the motherboard chipset drivers.

I had a very similar problem with DAE and the VIA Busmaster IDE driver - I upgraded to the "Highpoint" driver and DAE worked perfectly.

WinME may be using its own generic driver and that could be a problem.

Wish I could but I already have the 4.28a 4in1 driver package. Also the only drivers (according to VIA) that are updated are the AGP driver and actual chipset INF info on ME. I will try installing their bus master drivers but they don't claim ME support for them.
What are these "Highpoint" drivers, will they work for the VIA chips I have as well? The current drivers are the generic, come with ME drivers as you assumed.
