I have had my PC for a year now. I have never had a reason to open the box. Should I go in there just to dust? Or is this a case of "if it's not broke...". If I should dust, what's the best way? Do I want to use those little cans, or is the moisture risk too great?

go for compressed air then u let the comp sit for a couple of hours not only because of moisture but also becuase that air is C.O.L.D..
Ah bull ****.. the moisture is fine.. I run my comptuers when i dust.. and COLD is good for your comptuer.. why do you think kryotech cools it to - temps.. and all these water cooling projects!

ufo
the water cooling does not mean drowning the comp in water u use a enclosed box that u attach to the cpu if any water leaks then the cpu and everything else will die
even u if the water touches u

I'd dust every so often. Even enclosed, dust will accumulate on surfaces. On metallic surfaces it cuts down on heat transfer to the air & stuff will gradually run at higher temperatures.

How often depends on the conditions the PC is in. When you do clean it, use compressed air. Don't forget to get the CPU fan and the power supply really good. Then wait about a half hour or so.

Thanks for the advice, folks. I guess I will break out the feather duster. Kidding. Compressed air, and then wait a bit. Thanks again.
About once a year I unplug everything & take the beast to the garage to blow it out with compressor set at about 40 psi. Get LOTS of dirt out this way! Would take a lot of cans to equal that, & the dust would get all over if done in the comp. room! Also clean off the HS & fans whenever I'm working on it.
