Well, I kinda did something to my machine last night. First off, I decided to OC the graphics card (msi geforce4 4400) to 290/598, which actually worked out okay ~ till I restarted my machine.
When I restarted, I got an error stating that a critical boot file was missing and I would have to use the WindowsXP recovery consol to repair it. When I put in the disc and got to the recovery portion of XP, it asked me what drive I wanted to repair. So, I put in C ~ nothing ~ so, I put in C, Enter, and then it goes to C:\>Windows. So, I put in a number "1", enter, and I get the C prompt again...
Anyway, I finally just said screw it and I reformated everything ~ This time with a partition. I made my C: Drive 29Gb, and I made my D: Drive 10GB. After I formated my c: drive to NFTS, it prompted me to do the same to the d: drive as well ~ And then it proceeded to install my windows system on my D: drive.
Now, I have all my critical files on the D: drive, and then I'm saving all my games and stuff on my C: drive, when I wanted it the other way around. I have the Page filing coming off of the C: drive, the drive with 29gb of space, vs what I wanted on the d: drive.
Basically, everything feels really assbackwards to me right now ~ is there anything I can do to fix this, short of reformatting again? If something in the software fails again, will I have to reformat the C: drive, or just fix what ever is wrong with the D: drive? I am sooooooooooo sick of losing saved games like NWN, MOHAA, Starcraft, etc...
