I just bought a new motherboard that's warranty covers over clocking (867AS). I have a 1ghz Duron 462pin that I want to overclock. I have already used a pencil to connect the L1 and it seems to have worked. The hardness of the graphite is (B) very soft. The problem is that I don’t understand what the CPU ratio selector jumpers are. The board I have goes from 5.0x to 12.5x I haven’t messed with the jumpers but they seem to be at 10.0x. I was also wondering if I should leave FSB setting at 100-132 or if I should change it to 133-200. I would want to know what would happen if I did this. Finally, I have overclocked to 1.186ghz at 104 or 103mhz FSB if I go any higher windows won't start or I get a blue screen error. I was wondering if this could be a temperature thing.

I would say that it would be the temperature that makes it freeze. I overclocked my Duron 1.2 Ghz to 1.380 Ghz and it ran ok.
So I think if you want to get it higher get a better heatsink and fan like a copper one or maybe go with watercooling.

there are several cpu cooling programs out there. try this one
CpuIdle Pro (http://www.cpuidle.de)
also for cpu cooling if you haven't already upgrade to the thermaltake 6 or higher. I have a volcanoe 7 cooling a athlon t-bird 1.3 @ 1.6 temp 35c, system 24c. cooling is the name of the game when it comes to oc'n.
also make sure you have good venting. if you don't already put and intake fan(s) in the front to suck air into case. put and exhaust fan in the rear to blow the hot air out.
for more info on cooling and such check into case mods
