There's an X-Box Linux, you can run Linux in your X-Box and use it as a PC.

consoles are great for people who dont want internet/wp/dtp etc. For unser £200 you get a fast console, that will play ANY title release ever for itself, NO upgrades needed. NO driver updates, No P*****g about with this and that. And you save arounf £400 if you were to buy a top spec pc that games wise can do the exact same

Ich sehe Ihren Punkt. Neuere Spiele werden niedrigere Qualität auf dem Xbox sein, dann, welches das PC-PC immer die oberen Kerbenspielsysteme meiner Meinung nach auch ist.

PS2 will run linux if you get the linux package for about $200.
Comes with the OS(linux 1.0), HDD(40GB), usb keyboard, usb mouse, NIC, and monitor cable adapter.

$200 for Xbox and $200 for linux package= $400
For that much $ you could get a used system that would run linux! Or be half way on a budget sys! The price is what kills linux on the Xbox. I mean come on folks! $400 in a consel that will be extinct in a year, two tops. Thats sooo not for me!:( ;)

Actually XBOX 2 and the PS3 won't come out until 2006(The year I graduate:D )

But the XBOX 2 is suppose to do everything. Its gonna be a TIVO, Digital reciever box(For Digital cable/Satelite), DVD player, and of course a video game console with better graphics.

Don't get confused with the XBOX 1.2(The new ones that are coming out in september that will have a new graphics chip in it so that microsoft can save money.)

Oh, ruff day.:rolleyes: Anyhow I wondered why the Xbox would need anything it already has a nice sized HDD good enuff for linux anyways. So, Ps2 $200+$200 for linux, point still stands. I can see it for Xbox since you dont need anything else but why spend so much on a consel to do what a pc does?:t

I know somewhere there's an xbox simulator for your pc to run xbox games. Just like the well-established supernintendo emulator.

I have yet to find a Dreamcast or GOOD Saturn Emulator. Besides, wouldnt you need a Monster comp to run xbox stuff? The minimum requirement for a N64 emulator were P3 500, and considering how primitive a N64 is, I wonder what you would need to run Xbox stuff.

so it's just way to easy to emulate an Xbox.

I have a dreamcast, PS2, and XBOX emulator but I don't know if they work because there is no place where you can get any roms for them:(


BTW, an XBOX has a 10gig hard drive.;)
