I was raised on a Mac---sorry you cant see past the exterior---(other choices are available) but look what it does? Most things that a kid, or a computer newbie has heard about and would like to do, believe me the Mac OS is very friendly if yer just learning and will make it possible to move on to WinXX or "whatever"...look at its features did ya read what it allows? I purchased a Mac never having sat before a computer years ago, I valued the Mac's ability to teach me as I went along and it was a great learning experience---I plugged it in and "simply" plowed forward (you guys were not here to answer my dopey Q's then) I think its a great product that has a niche---maybe not yours and I can only give you my experience, things have changed alot in the 6 years since I began to use a computer and Windows is WAY more friendly now, I still value Apples ability to come up with innovative products, whether you see it or not, Apple has brought alot of people into the world of computing thru great quality products with ease of use...simple

... the one thing you won’t hear is a fan. There isn’t one. Because unlike PCs that require noisy cooling fans to avoid overheating, the iMac takes advantage of a unique design feature to cool itself quietly...

Socal, more than likely, it uses the same theory that the cube does,convection.
The heated air rises and in doing so draws in cool air from the bottom. This is only a guess tho...

The cube Mac does not require a fan because it has vents in the top where the heat naturally rises and dissipates itself. Some of Macs designs are beautiful in their simplicity.

But that new IMac is ****-ugly.

Don't get me wrong! I love Macs and use them, but IMAC's are just simply a disgrace to be called a Power PC! They would be the E-machines or less among Macs!
