We just built a computer and it gives us frequent problems such as freezing and errors. We were thinking that there was some compatibility problems. Could this be possible?
The system components are: soyo-p4vda motherboard, p4 2.0a ghz, 350watt power supply, sony cd-rw, compaq mv540 monitor, geforce 2 mx400, running windows 98se.

Thanks for any help you can give us.

If you are using more than one stick of ram try each one individually. Then make sure you have the latest drivers. If you still get errors try using the setup defaults in the bios. If the errors stop manually adjust the bios settings upward until you find the one that is causing the error.

we are only using one stick of 266mb of ram. we tried it in two different slots. I am going to try reseting bios now.

I was trying to get drivers for the video card because I thought that that was the problem but could not find a driver for it. Do you know where one would be?
Thanks,
Christopher
