MMX+ sounds like something either Cyrix or AMD would come up with, unless you mean SSE.

AMD has 3dnow! in all of their CPUs starting with the K6-2 line. That could be MMX+ (not sure).

Intel, after putting MMX in p55c (pentium w/ MMX tech) and pentium 2, added SSE to pentium 3 and celeron 2 chips. They might have originally called it MMX+

Bottom line: I don't know what MMX+ is, but it could very well be SSE or 3dnow!

MMX stands for Multi Media Extension, a set of extra instructions AMD first started using and passing the info to developers, so that they could take advantage of the extra instructions that would help speed up games.

Hey guys! What CPUs do have MMX+ instructions and can they be upgraded in some way or is buying of a new CPU the only solution?

http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif Yeah guys, I understand all that but in this program from H. Oda WCPUID lists MMX, MMX+, SSE, SSE2, 3DNow,...
That's what is so confusing.
