pleez I need help...my cdrom will not play at all...unrecognized by windows 98...any suggestions? just cleaned yesterday but it wont even play the cleaner cd now...thanx for your time and input :confused:

Check the Device Manager. Is the drive listed? Is there a yellow exclamation next to it? Try removing the device and reboot to let Windows re-detect it.

On my hi-fi, whenever my kids had a shower and played a cd, the lens would get wet. I blew a hairdrier into it and it usually worked after that.

and I learned that CDs dont like hand lotion and baby oil either. * chuckle*
