It's part of Juno's attempt to turn a profit. The company has dubbed the effort its "Virtual Supercomputer Project" and hopes that it will be able to resell its customers' unused hard-drive space, RAM and processor capacities to researchers and others who need enormous capacity to solve complex problems

Wow, that is super lame! How can you leave your computer on 24/7 when the juno software crashes the system every 20 minutes?

A marketing attempt like that is sure to fail.
If they marketed it as a new thing,,
"Be a part of the worlds largest supercomputer, you too can aid in the research for the cure for stupidity..
Leave your computer on so our scientific community can learn the riddle of the Rubrics Cube(sp?) "
Market excitement can make anything fly, take the AMC Pacer, or Suburau http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

juno juno juno....
ill be dumping them the end of this month to get a cable modem, after they told me they would increase
my rate from $10 to $30 per month due to
high usage. but i hate them anyway, their are always disconnecting us in the
middle of writing a letter but not clicking the mouse, for example, and they are down more and more often, it seems like two days per week average downtime. i dont think
theyre any better than aol.
