I was wondering (since ram is so cheap) could i copy an application (like photoshop or for that matter windows) to a ramdrive and run it faster?

When you start Photoshop, it loads itself into RAM. That is why it dosen't chug away at the hard drive when you try to do stuff (unless you dont have enough). Plus the probrag would not stay in your RAM after a reboot. Not worth the effort as far as I know.

Yes you can do that. But, like star said, photoshop does use quite a bit of ram already. I would imagine you would need about 512 megs ram to do soemthing like that (reliably). My Photoshop 5 takes up about 14 megs of ram when I first load it up. When I start a 1000x1000 pixel image, it takes up 15. Then, while manipulating that, it can take up to 50+. (strangely enough when i minimize the program and then maximize it again, it only takes 8 megs). So, give it a shot and let us know hot it goes!
