Could someone tell me if I should start on a clean install of my OS.

To make a long story short I decided to see what was out there on the web. I downloaded and installed tons of stuff with no problems other than crappy shareware. Then today I downloaded Analyzer and its associated stuff. During the install you have to install a new protocol and thats where the problem is. After this protocol is installed you must reboot. I did and got a box asking for a password. This goes on and on. Stuff just has been changed at random ie. I now have to enter my dial-up password.

Later on I went into Explorer and found a "setuplog" file, with tons info from my system' that got me to thinking WTF???

So, should I run for the hills and just re-install everything or am I just crazy? The idea of a new program causeing my system to ask for passwords and that log file freaks me out. Or is this program legit?

The program was downloaded from: http://netgroup-serv.polito.it/winpcap/

Hi JC,
First I would try uninstalling the program either through the Windows set up in the control panel or with its own uninstall program.
Also use this method to " uninstall " other programs you don't want.
Don't delete programs as that could mess things up even worse.
