I have a pentium 4 1.6 mounted on a Asus p4s333 overclocked to 2.0 in the bios of the motherboard. I've adjusted the cpu voltage core up .05V to help the cpu. I've got 256MB of PC2100(soon to be 512 of PC2700). Now I'm experiencing a static in my soundcard, even if I turn things back to standard settings. I'm curious if it might be the memory causing a problem being unable to take the additional clocks, and if so what would be the proper setting 1:1, 3:4, or 3:5. If not, and I'm guessing not, I was thinking it would be the pci bus running at a higher speed and it might have damaged my sound card, or at least be causing the static. The static appears to be processor based since the greater the usage the worse it gets, but nothing else is acting any differently at all, so I'm not inclined to think it's the processor. Any clues, opinions, or suggestions?

Try reinstalling your soundcard drivers first (when not O'clocked). Then maybe even moving it to another pci. If it still persist even at stock speed then you could have bumed it. Not all pci cards like a increased bus speed. SBLives I can say dont mind 40mhz pci bus speed,:D . same with HDD's some'll take it some wont.

It's a SB audigy gamer card, so I was thinking the same thing about the bus speed, but I'm not worried..i've got a spare live plat in an unused computer.
