I ordered a hypersonic "sonic boom", with an Asus P4T533-C mobo, 512mb pc1066 rdram, Leadtek GF4 ti 4600, 2.533 ghz P4, Windows Xp home, and Klipsch Promedia 5.1 (Nice) After oc'ing my GF4 to at least 330mhz core, what do you think I will benchmark on 3dmark 2001 se? I'm hoping to get at least 12,500 after overclocking my GF4. Is it even necessary to oc my video card?. Also, on a side note, does more ram make that big of a difference? or does the difference come mainly from the type of ram? For instance, will I benefit more from 1gb PC-800 rdram, or 512 pc1066 rdram? Thanks-

1- 12,000+ sounds about right to me
2- You don't have to overclock your card, but you might as well get everthing you can out of it.
3- I'd say 512mb of pc1066 is plenty of ram unless your going to run programs that use a ton of ram.

Welcome to Sysopt:t :D

I may have enough ram, but will i see a performance increase with more? Is 1gb of pc-800 going to produce better frame rates than 512 mb of pc-1066?

I suppose your using your computer for gaming. Id keep that pc1066. unless your game needs more than 256 mb to run. the extra 512 mb will go unused. Unless if course you are doing auto cad or something which I think your not

Hypersonic provides 2 80mm video cooling fans, and along with leadtek's two cooling fans and large heatsink, will that cooling be sufficent to overclock to 330/740 (or maybe more) without any problems in the longrun? Man, that would be sweet. Also, with a standard intel cooler (Sanyo Denki) what do you think I could safely overclock my 2.533 P4 to without having to worry about overheating it or buying extra cooling options? The case has 3 processor cooling fans, I think.

if if if...... get the dam thing! overclock ur p4 fsb bit by bit!! run 3dmark to see when it comes unstable!! if it is unstable go 3Mhz back and run 3dmark for 2 hours! then use sisoft sandra "burn" in while being (MEAN) and play some mp3 or better encode or decode something at the same time! let this run for at least 20 minutes! if it doesnt crash it is stable! make sure ur temps are ok though!!!

with the geforce! you can overclock quite a bit with the leadttek (the one with the 2 fans which is one big heatsink)
just go little by little and see what happens! however with this system you wouldnt see much difference when playing games at full spec at 1024 not using anti analising. ! all games would run fine!!!!!! except if you have a problem!
