From this (http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MzQx) article about the 2600+ -

One thing worthy of mention is that we've been informed that the next AthlonXP released, the 2800+, will ride a 333MHz bus, allowing full use of the DDR333 memory out in the market. Interestingly enough, our 2600+ operated just fine at 165MHz bus, but at 166MHz it was quite disagreeable. I'm not sure if that just happened to be the wall for our specific chip or if there's some kind of huge AMD conspiracy stopping me from OCing beyond that. Most likely the former.

The thoroughbred line still has an engine that needed a few tweaks here and there to achieve great results now that's without the 333fsb can you imagine when that new fsb hits the market yikes ... AMD is sure to come out on TOP both in revolutionary technology and in pricing . Thanks for that interesting article glad to see AMD has not given up the fight. Is not the fighter that can land a knockout punch in the early rounds but the one that perseveres and is able to pull out a win.:t
