im running on winxp

for some reason one of the systems will not shut down by itself when i shut down.. it goes to the "it is now safe" screen

i know that in previous versions if you enabled advanced power management, it would auto shut down for you

but i cant seem to find it in xp.. if anyone knows what to do let me know :p

See if you can find a patch for this XP problem in the Microsoft website. I know 98 had a similar problem and a patch was provided. :)

There's no fix for this

you need to have APM enabled, at the BIOS and a full brand new reinstall of XP
for it to install the kernel needed to control that shutdown.

basically it comes down to a problem with XP not knowing that your Mobo does know how to auto shutdown

that's why you need to Wipe out everything and reinstall XP.
