I am going to build a new computer and to keep the initial cost down I want to use a All In Wonder 32MB Radeon video card I allready own. I would like to buy a motherboard which supports an AMD XP 2000+ processor. I game online a lot and would appreciate any advice I could get.

What is your price range? Do you want overclcoking ability? How about onboard sound?

If you want to assemble a pc that starts with some solid backbone components (and compromises on those you can easily U/G later, like vid card, sound, memory, etc.) AND you have any interest in overclocking/performance tweaking, then you could not go wrong with an EPoX 8K3A+, or it's newer, slightly more featured big brother, the 8K5A2+. the 3A+ offers HighPoint onboard RAID and decent onboard sound... the 5A2+ offers RAID, sound and onboard NIC, plus USB2.0 support.

I just upgraded a few months ago to the 8K3A+ and it's a solid, very fast mobo, that is the backbone of my system. I'm currently running an XP2100+ (usually kept overclocked to 1807mHz @ 139mHz fsb)... and the latest BIOS "8k3a2815.bin" will support AMD cpus at the XP2800+ level (if... and when... they become available).

Ahhh....what the heck! I quadruple that suggestion. I just wish that EPoX had a pink PCB or something.
