tweeking for highspeed internet

A friend of mine downloaded some stuff from the internet on my old computer that made it download faster on my cable modem. I just build a 1gig amd with a k7 raid and I'm trying to learn some new things. He also it so that when you right click the mouse the scroll was transparent? Any ideas. Thanks

Anouther good source for tweaking DSL/Cable is http://www.dslreports.com/ if you go to there tools the to tweak tester it gives a easy to follow test/tweak recomendation.

I like the easy instal rwin/mtu registry tweaks. Of course I checked it and the tweaktester is down but thats par for me. LOL

Thanks for the good advice. I'll check out the links. I installed windows 2000k professional and the sales man told me there was no need to tweek my system. He's a sales man I'm going to try it any ways.
