I'm looking to scan some price sheets into an Excel spreadsheet so I can manipulate the data. I'm new at this - am I expecting too much?

Can this be done, and if so is there any use-friendly software to accomplish this task?

Thanks in Advance...

Excel allows you to scan in pictures, but not directlya data sheet that is properly formatted for manipulation. Check out komando.com--Kim mention on one of her radio programs an OCR program that will convert from ocr to other formats--maybe Excel? I think it was made by Powerquest (the company that makes Partition Magic). Good luck...hso

I've used OmniPage Pro 10 at work and it seems to work fine. I havnt done price lists but I've scanned tables and I tried saving it as an excel file - it worked out ok. You can save the scan as lots of different formats like word6 ,word2000, excel and so on.
