well

i got a new harddrive few days ago .. (120GB)
i have a well configured winXP on my old 40GB.
the 40GB will become my exchangeable HD and the 120GB the new primary master.

i don't want to reinstall to the 120GB, but to copy winXP from the old to the new with all directories needed.

i know there is this win98 command :
xcopy32 /k /r /e /i /s /c /h c:\windows d:\winback

but will does this also work with winXP ???

if not what else can i do ?

thx

Oh man - that's the hard way. It's really slow too. Download the drive installation utility from the maker's site and use it to copy drive to drive. You can also use Ghost 2002, Drive Image 5 or Drive Image 2002.

Maxtor = Maxblast
W-D = Data Lifeguard v10.0

What I did with Win9x was this: I made the partition I was copying to bootable (sys or format /s) and then dragged (copied) all directories (folders) and files to it. Only thing is my desktop icons have their order changed.

I ghost it now.
