is it possible to install hp win98 recovery disc onto a different computer?

If it does you will be forever plagued with problems. This goes for using a regular win disk on an hp.Tried both once!

if you try to use a restore disk in a computer it is not intended for, it will not work. most restore disks do a bios check to see if the right bios version is on the computer, if the bios is not recognized by the disk, you will not be able to install the software.

Hello,

I have a similar problem. I upgraded the BIOS for my IBM Thinkpad and I can't use the recovery CD anymore.

Does this mean that if I do a BIOS flash I need to re-do my Win98 Crash disk?
