I just wanted to add this:
The new server is working just fine as a stand-alone server. When I try to install the Active Directory Services on it to promote it to a BDC/DC so I get the mentioned error.

Hi sys,
it is a lot easier for you and the rest of us if you keep all the info in one thread. highlight the above and past it into you other thread either as a reply (hit reply to thread button) or as an edit to the original by clicking the pencil and paper icon in the original thread.
As for the answer i'm afraid i have no idea but i'm sure someone around here will.
