I have Mandrake Linux 8.0 and I can't get my modem to work. I know for a fact it is not a win-modem because on my old computer it worked perfectly fine. Now when I built myself a faster computer and when I put the modem in, it gives me a message saying the modem is busy right now and cannot respond. The motherboard I have has 5 pci slots 1 isa slot and uses the via kt133 chipset. Has there been any problems that I should know about? By the way, plug and play is disabled in my bios and plug and play has been disabled on the modem chip itself.
