It's a sick world, I'm a happy guy! Larry Reeb
Maybe a dumb question, but, I am adding a USB 2.0 PCI card to a system. Do I need to have USB enabled in the BIOS? My mind says no if I don't want to use the ports on the motherboard.
Thanks

Um - no. Do not disable onboard USB or the new card may not work. Besides, why waste two perfectly good ports?

You don't need to worry about your BIOS. The USB ports on the PCI card are completely independant of the motherboard's USB ports.

I would ask why you want to disable them. They use the same IRQ as one of the USB 2.0 card will. There's no harm in leaving them enabled.
