If that didn't work

you can do a re-install, which will re-detect all your new hardware.

so clean-install is not required

which mean, you wont lose anything

:t :)

good eh?

If you're going Intel to Intel or VIA to VIA, don't reinstall. Delete the ENUM key as referenced in the linked thread and start her back up. If it hangs, run setup from a floppy. Your data will be saved.

Nothing is wrong with using a USB mouse... but you can get an adapter to use a USB mouse in a PS2 port.

Is it working in Win98?

I'm wondering - is there a switch in BIOS for PS/2 function? If so, enable it. Otherwise, I would suspect that your PS/2 controller is defective. If it weren't defective, it would likely work in one OS at least.

it is funny but I do not have keyboard now, and this is before loading the OS:confused:
probably I am now in the wrong forum, sorry

Are you surethat you don't have the keyboard and mouse connections reversed? Are either of them USB?

Try clearing CMOS. The instructions should be in your manual. You can simply unplug and remove the battery for a few seconds too. If the keyboard is still not responding, the motherboard needs to go back.

well, I removed the battery and clean CMOS, still no keyboard, so I can not access BIOS bwcause I need to press the "delete" key. If I disconnect the keyboard it emits a sound after post as trrrrrrrrrr continuosly, if I turn off the pc and reconect the kb, then it does not do it anymore, could this be a problem with the mobo??
