my subject said it all, ok today i went to my cousin's house to paly CS with OpenGL omg i can;t believe how smooth. my video card suck can't even support OpenGL. my cousin's video card is ATI Radeon 8500.

You can't compare a GF 4 series vs a Radeon 8500, cuz they were NOT made at the same time

but yes you can compare a GF 3 series vs a Radeon 8500, cuz they were made at the same time

Now if you want to compare with a GF 4 series you can do it vs Radeon 9700 and 9000 series.

But make sure you select systems that ARE NOT OC-ed

that's the thing i hate the most about that website, everything is OC-ed, so hard to find some REAL STOCK numbers to compare to.

well i have to say again money is my big problem.. czu i dotn have any $ after build this PC.. and i think i might interest on either Ati radeon 8500 or 900o since it cheap compare with GeForce4 ti, plus soon Geforce5 comming out the next year..

this card is faster than the 9000/9000 pro...

I'm using ATI Radeon 8500 and am very happy with it. ATI is (or was at the time I bought the board) more versatile that the equivalent GeForce card (multiple monitors and TV out for example).
Radeon 8500 drivers are no longer a problem - I use the latest Omega drivers.
Used to be that ATI OEM boards were clocked slightly slower than their retail boards. Doesn't matter anyhow because you can over-clock using PowerStrip.
I believe most gamers still prefer the GeForce cards. They're faster and have better drivers. But for general use and taking $cost$ into consideration the Radeon 8500 is a good card.
