Know how to surf!
Don't use words like an, or, the, in your search
Enclose your search words in ""
Use - to exclude words in your search
Examples:
"Geforce4 reviews" -price -produce -stock
"Geforce4 reviews" benchmarks -price -produce -stock

This will exclude most sites that sell the Geforce an focus on reviews!

I use Dogpile, (www.dogpile.com) because it list results from other search engines.

question: why would a search engine be unmentionable? (if you can answer that question without getting in trouble, p.m. me if its the only way)
