I have a D-Link DWL-650 on a Dell Laptop with Win XP Home, and a 3Com Nic on a wired pc, using a Cisco 675 DSL modem, with a wireless access point/router from Linksys, the Befw11s4 Version 2. I have two crossover cables, and a straight through. I set it up with the crossover between the router and the modem, and a straight through between the pc and the router.

Problem being, i can get the router and the modem to link up so that it says everything is connected right, but when i try to connect, it times out. I have rebooted the whole network, i have retrained the modem, reset the router, and nada. Now, it won't even access the router.

I have decided to remove every networking component from my pc's and install fresh. Anyone have any ideas of what to make sure i do/don't do. Specifically i need to know what type of cable goes between which device. Thanks!

RIGHT THERE! is your fault

you need a normal straight CAT-5 from the ROUTER to your DSL Modem, also normal straight CAT-5 from every Computer to your Router/Switch
