thinking of buying 256 MB's DDR RAM for system I'm building 4/5 months from now as prices are low now - on newgroups seems to be controversy on how this RAM performs - DDR 2100 CAS 2 CAS 3 vs. DDR 1600 (much cheaper) CAS 2 or 3 etc. - I play games and wonder if the additional cost of the CAS 2 DDR 2100 RAM has a REAL Frames Per Second increase over the CAS 2 DDR 1600 RAM that would justify the extra cost? DDR RAM has a new, less logincal naming convention:

1600 = 200mhz
2100 = 266mhz

Note that many benchmarks have DDR showing only a 15-20% increase over vanilla SDRAM. It may not turn out to be the RDRAM killer we thought it would be - especially if RDRAM prices keep dropping.....
