I'm trying to help a friend with installing drivers for his video card ;
---> ATI All in Wonder Radeon 32 bit <---
As of yesterday everything was apparently working fine.. today he reports to me that his monitor is all screwed up, and that the only option he has on the monitor settings is VGA ? He has also told me that when he tries to access his tv option on the card he is s told to update the drivers.
Since then he's downloaded the new driver, but not sure where it is stored on his system.
So, basically... How does he access, and update/install these drivers for this card ??
Specs,
- P3 800 mhz
- Windows98se
Thanks.......

Can you be a little bit more specific on the version of the ATI All In Wonder?
is it this one or this other one?
ALL-IN-WONDER (RAGE II+) Drivers
http://www.ati.com/support/products/pc/rageii/aiwdrivers.html?cboOS=Windows+98&cboProducts=ALL+IN+WONDER&cmdNext=GO%21
RAGE PRO
http://mirror.ati.com/support/products/pc/ragepro/win98/rageprowin98drivers.html?cboOS=Windows+98&cboProducts=ALL+IN+WONDER+PRO&cmdNext=GO%21
ask him/her for the BOX or manual or something to see what is the real chipset

Once you get all the drivers, install them in his/her computer.
if you have trouble Boot into Safe Mode
during boot up hit F8 then select Safe Mode
and then you can remove every old video card from the list.
now after reboot, it'll ask you for the drivers of the new one.
Hi AllGamer, thanks for your reply's.............
Here's an update,
He can't give me any specefics on the card, but this is what he has done,
- He's removed all existing drivers and installed the drivers that originally came with the card.
-He's rebooted his computer and under the properties/settings of this card he has VGA and "apparently" can not change these settings.
I'm sorry if this seems confusing, I'm talking to him via telephone, and getting frustrated because I can not see what's actually going on.
Any other suggestions appreciated.....
Thanks..........

well an easy way out is to reinstall Win98
but it's not really required

he can go into Device Manager
and change the driver for
PCI Bus, in System Devices to
PLUG AND PLAY (FAIL SAFE)
then after the reboot, it will Reinstall all the Hardwares
Update:
As It turns out, my friend is going the easy route and wiping out his hard drive. He said he wanted to upgrade to XP anyway....
Thanks again AllGamer for your reply(s),
Zak.......
