Hi! I went from Linux Mandrake 8.0 to 9 beta.
The 8.0 had a really great way to setup the internet connection (during install), but the 9 beta its immpossible to get it to work....
I had Redhat 7.3 also, but there was the same problem.

I have a pci lan card connected directly to my ADSL modem. I`ve done the adsl-setup script, and have checked, if the user/pass is ok in the pap and chap, but it still wont go. I think the problem may lay in the lan card setup?

Help!

Update!

I had enough of Mandrake beta 9 and installed Mandrake 8.2!
But the problem remains...
Ok my question: how is the correct way of confing the nic for adsl?
(my pc is directly connected to my ADSL modem [Nokia m5921])
And What else should I know before setting up my connection.
PS! my username as an @ in it. Is that a problem?

why did you make a new post again?
you can have continued from the previous one.

anyways....

What is the NIC card that you have?

and how is the NIC connected to the network?

Do you have a router?

does the NIC goes straight to the ADSL modem?
