I have a Ricoh MP9060A CDRW/DVD 24x6x4x+4x It has worked flawlessly in a AMD K6-2@600 even overclocked on a 115fsb with no coasters. It has a nice 2Mb cache which is ideal for DVD playback. With hacked 1.60 firmware it is also region free. The new higher speed drive also has the RICOH's equivalent of plextor's Burn Proof called JustLink - though on that i cannot comment. Here I think... http://www.ricoh.co.jp/cd-r/e-/e_europe/drive/index7125a.html artaxerxes 02-15-2001, 03:27 PM http://www.ricoh.co.jp/cd-r/e-/e_europe/drive/index9120a.html erk wrong link above eagle1 02-16-2001, 06:54 AM I have a Toshiba drive (can't remember the model) but it has speeds of: 4x4x24x and 4x for DVD. Although the speeds are old-school, the drive has performed flawlessly for me. System specs: AMD K6-2 500mhz 128 pc133 Ram Toshiba drive cd rom drive 2 hd etc. Not yet have I produced a coaster and audio extraction is quite capable. The only negative thing I found was DVD Playback. The software included is by Cyberlink (powerdvd) which is quite good but my system shows jerky movies. It seems like the image is skipping a lot. I know there must be reasons (like my proccessor not being good enough, my Voodoo 3 2000, or no dma cables) but I'll bet that if you have a capable system, you'll get better results.!! eagle1 signing off....
