I'm using that Linksys BEFSR41, probably the most used router, and for good reason. Really easy to use. As far as the sound card goes, I'm using SB Live! 5.1 on both computers, good card for the price. If you're going to be doing all that you should probably look into Audigy.

After I posted I saw a thread called Linksys at the bottom of the page and it sound good for the money. So you think SB Audigy would be beter for mp3's and games. do you know what the difference are among the two that would benefit my needs. thanks for the help

Yup! The linksys befsr41 is a nice little unit. Easy to setup and use. I'm running through one as I post. For sound card I like turtle beach santa cruz. Voyetra has been along time in the digital sound business.
