Hi -

I am trying to find out if there happens to be a device I could get that would allow me to plug 2 keyboards and mice into ONE computer system. I am getting a Keyboard & Mouse Tray (https://motifato-mach7.4ecommerce.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=M&Product_Code=MT&Category_Code=H) that mounts over my music synth (Yamaha Motif 8) so that I can easily control/access my computer's sequencer/softsynths/etc while sitting at the synth. But of course it would be a real pain if I had to "migrate" my mouse and keyboard between my computer desk and the synth's keyboard tray all the time... so I'm hoping it will be possible to have sets of them at both locations. The PC is in my closet (to reduce noise) and is not very accessable for quick cable swapping. A manual switch to pick which is active would be ok - though of course both active at the same time would be killer :)

Thanks!

That's simple

just get a KVM switch
but what you really need is a KM switch.

just do a search in google for places that sells KVM switch, and they will carry those KM switch
or just V switch
or just K switch
or etc....

:D

But in a side note.
you can also do it the cheap way by doing what i did.

use a ps2 splitter for the 2 keyboard
and leave the original mouse in Ps2
then add USB or Serial mouse for your 2nd mouse. Also works with a USB keyboard as a 2nd keyb

now you can have 2 mouse and 2 keyboard without those expensive KVM switches

Ok I searched and found nothing but switches that allow you to control multiple systems from ONE keyboard and mouse.... which is the opposite of what I need to do. I need to control one system with 2 separate keyboards and mice.

Could you link me directly to the best products for this, if possible?
Thanks!

dude just get a few usb key boards and mice

i got a wireless keyboard and mouse set that i use for my mp3's and playing games on my tv (s video out)

and a second hooked up at the tower.

i dont really have any adapters.
if you dont wanna buy a usb keyboard mouse then head on down to radio shack and pick up some ps/2 to usb converters. they run lik $1.70

Well... cant use all USB - only have 1 (of 4) free.... but the Y adapter suggestion seems good (assuming my system will accept it - worth a try though I think). I have a USB Logitech mouse, and the current keyboard is ps/2.... so I have one ps/2 free. Is there enough "bandwidth" on the ps/2 to flawlessly handle the 2 devices on one port? (I know it might work ok, but I want it to work "perfect" hehe).

Thanks.
