Just how backwards compatible is SDRAM? I.e., will 133mhz RAM work ok in a 100mhz FSB system? 75mhz? 66mhz?

It will also worked when mixed with pc-100 as well. Sure, the ram will not be running as fast but you will have no problems putting that pc-133 dimm into that 66mhz system. mattjenna 02-12-2001, 04:35 PM What about PC-100 on a 133mhz bus? thanks Matt RalphArch 02-12-2001, 04:38 PM just also be aware that there is some newer memory types (eg some 32MX4 256 meg) 133 out there that won't work on any bx motherboard - see http://www.syncmax.com/resultcomp.asp?s=1 NDC 02-12-2001, 04:42 PM What about PC-100 on a 133mhz bus? Nope! Mosy likely, PC-100 won't be able to hang on FSB133 systems. captpete 02-13-2001, 11:44 AM RalphArch: What is a "bx" motherboard? Roy 02-13-2001, 01:01 PM The 'chipset' is the mobo's manager. It handles moving data around among the devices. Intel i440BX is a very widely used workhorse chipset found on many boards. captpete 02-15-2001, 08:37 AM Thank you. This forum is great. I learn more "need to know" stuff here than in class. SysOpt.com
