Here they are..

OCZ DDR RAM 512MB PC-2700 333mhz $169

MUSHKIN DDR 512MB PC-2700 333mhz $169

CORSAIR MEMORY 512MB PC2700 DDR RAM 333MHz $170

They all have heat spreaders.

Which would you pick?

I don't care i use GENERIC, it cost much much less, and it last longer, and it works for me.

Cost be a bit less than $200 for 2 Gig of RAM. roughtly $48 per stick of 512 DDR

Mushkin is a name ive heard bandied about as good quality - and corsair seems to be quite a common one, im not so sure about OCZ, although ive heard them mentioned by people a couple of times...

Overall i think whatever you go for you got yourself a good stick of RAM :)

All three are very high quality, personally I would go with Corsair because it sounds cooler :D. You might want to spring for the $195 512 MB Geil (http://www.ocsystem.com/oc51pc43ddrs.html) PC3500 module, best DDR-RAM available for overclocking. It comes with a copper heat spreader and is rated for 433 MHz, of course it can overclock past that. According to the site that link goes to, it was overclocked to 652 MHz with a P41.6A.

Generic doesnt last longer you fool! Thats why its generic, cuz its ****, its cheaper, ,its not as good as namebrand ram.

Ive never heard of OCZ, and neither did Bigjakkstaffa, so i would be wary bout that.

Ive seen the name Mushkin, but i havent actually heard whether its good or bad.

And Corsair ive heard good things about.

But if you want to buy ram, ive heard nothing but good stuff bout www.crucial.com I myself havent bought stuff from them, but i have never heard one bad thing about them. Plus if you know what kinda motherboard you have, they can gaurantee that you buy the right kinda ram(i.e. PC2700 cl2.5 unbuffered)

All three are good, but of the bunch Corsair is the best. Mushkin is close behind with OCZ a step behind that. As stated, Crucial is always a good bet.

I currently Corsair CMX DDR2700 CAS2 and have experienced zero memory-related errors or problems even with aggresive timings; have used Mushkin SDRAM (was very pleased with performance), again with very aggressive timings. No experience with OCZ.

Mushkin you can trust from one end to the other used there sdram and it was solid over many hours in a gaming session, using a stick of crucial ddr now and am not that pleased with it thought it was better since alot of people were using it figured I'd try it just to say I did, first stick had to be rma'd others had same problem. Will replace it with mushkin soon I hope, I'd stay away from OCZ if you have to deal with the company there one of the worst.

rma'd? whats that mean? And if the thing was defective, then they would replace (im pretty sure)

RMA = return mechandise authorization = permission to return for refund or replacement. Rangeral is saying that Crucial replaced the memory with more bad memory.

In my case, I have had about 3GB of Crucial SDRAM without a single incident. I'm also using a 512MB stick of OCZ DDR333 and it checks out fine.

O, hehe, then getting it replaced didnt help. Well, that would suck.

You can't go wrong with Mushkin. They offer top quality ram and back it with the best service and support I have ever experienced, period. I have used Crucial as well and while it works fine, Mushkin has better support and RMA features. And yes, I have dealt with both in RMA situations. I am not a mad overclocker, so I can't really comment on their respective performance in that scenario.

I meant other people got bad crucial on there orders and have been hearing this alot lately, my rma ram is working just maybe I expected more from 256 than I should and probably need more with full effects on guess XP uses alot of resources fully enabled since I don't usually use effects.

OCZ ram rated well but dealing with OCZ itself is terrible, bought parts from them a year ago still using there gladiator hs/f from the 1.3 I bought from them on an 1800XP the 1.3 ended up having to be underclocked maybe not their fault but definitely not an enjoyable or easy experience dealing with them. I would never buy or deal with them again. They had a problem with one of there staff undermining their operation don't know if they cleared it up.

I think mistubishi makes the best ram ever!! I have been running a stick of pc100 at 133 for over two weeks with no lockups, and the brand is mistubishi. Does anyone know if they still make ram?
