**** I WAS JERKING ON THE POWERCORD UNAWHERE THAT THE COMP WAS TURNED ON AND THEN I PUT MY HAND ON THE PS AND WOW WHAT A JOLT I GOT 220VOLTS STRAIGHT INTO MY BODY I DONT HAVE
ANY FEELING IN MY RIGHT ARM
I CAN SAY THIS I NOW HAVE A HIGHER RESPECT FOR ANYTHING ELECTRICAL
A little 60Hz jiggle makes a wiggle in your head!
Man, EMF can be a real pain sometimes...stay away from that!

well it was no wiggle i can asure u that i chrashed into the wall and i still have not recoverd all my feeling in me right arm
I got the same from a wall oven some years ago which was a dedicated 220 line. I was thankful that a friend of mine was there to remove my hand from it!
It's not an experience I would like anytime again. You may be be a bit light-headed for a day or two sky.
According to the Old Testament, the Arc of the Covenant was kept in the Holy of Holies, a place where only the High Priest was allowed to enter. To guard against the possibility he might be struck down, a rope was tied around his leg so he could be pulled back out. (Could have the tablets become the plates of a charged capacitor?)
Whenever I work with dangerous amounts of electricity, either I kill the source when alone, or go ahead and work it "hot" if someone else is there to "pull me out".
I haven't been bigtime "bit" since the one near-death experience when I was younger, less cautious, and easy to teach about not doing that again.

geez skywalker! Glad you're ok. Your arm should recover methinks. I know the feeling - having been thrown myself.
Bet you won't do that again eh? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

that'll wake ya up in the mornin'! 220 volts of pure java! and people wonder why we use 120 in the US. all that does is give ya a tingle. except on your tongue. don't ask. and roy, that really isn't a good idea, as the other person can get imobilized by touching you, if you can't move either. it's much better to have them by a cut off, even if it means cutting a cord. or, if possible, just take the time to disconnect. trust me, one person electrocuted is bad mogombo, but two is worse.

If you are not exagerating about having no feeling in part of your arm and the numbness persists, please see a doctor.
I worked for the Los Angeles Dept of Water and Power for 7 years and according to training videos there can be severe internal burns that can become gangreenous. Although this is usually only true for much higher voltages, there is still the possibility of some nerve dammage - see a doctor

And worse yet to touch your tongue to 110 volts!!!

Sounds like your machine is straight from Mary Shelley's book - "Frankenstein"! What the heck are you making over there? lol

Good to hear you have some feeling back.
Take CM's suggestion to heart and get a check-up. At least see what they have to say medically.

Ever notice how some people are more sensitive to electricity that others? I'm one of those people who grabs a spark plug wire to see if an engine has spark, but I've seen other people try the same and end up across the room. I don't know if it comes from being shocked several times as a kid (grabbed a 220v waterpump wire, various 110v light socket and wall plug run ins) or what, but I sometimes wonder what makes a person more or less affected by a jolt.
On the more odd side, I can usually (about 90%) tell if a wire, socket, or outlet is hot just by passing a hand close to it. Perhaps the video card 'tingle' that skywalker is noticing now is an enhanced sensitivity and nothing is different at all. On the other hand, you could have a serious groundplane problem with your case, power supply, or board...

groundplane ?? dangerous ??
i have felt that i am more sensitve to electicity now then i was before this but hey im just happy to be alive
by the way i went to the hospital after this and when i said that i had been electicuted and that i had a pain in my arm they went crasy and gave me some injections becuase they though i was gona have a heart attack
im never going to the hospital again NEVER
im think im a wery lucky man that survied this 220volts is nothing to play with ive heard of people dying from jolts like this
im still afraid to touch the comp i wont even turn the lights off hehe

The next time anyone here comes close to God again, can you put in a little reminder from me? Let them know I'm still down here..

Stoopid Human Tricks-
Growing up in a rural area, us group of dumb kids used to bet the newbie neighbor kid, whom was almost always 'citified', that we could ........umm.............micturate (SP?) upon Farmer Jones' (or Olafssen, or Pattersen etc.) electric fence without undue duress or injury, while everyone held hands in a chain fashion with the..........umm............'fireman'.
We would work it so the newbie was at the end of the chain, and thus recieve 99% of the shock. The..........umm...........'fireman' and those in the middle of the chain would barely feel the shock, but the poor sucker at the end got a new hair style. Great fun.
Really high voltage+current makes me **** nervous. I can feel the juice from just touching a car battery positive terminal, and if a plug wire is bad, from several feet away.
Mebbe this is resultant from my misspent youth?

Well.......the brain damage came later in life. I did, shall we say......"privately funded drug research" for many years. The results were astounding.
I just hoped to get y'all laughing at a not so funny situation.
Get well.
