Its your memory slowing you down. Pc133 is the worst type of memory that you could run with a p4. Try to get some rambus or at least some fast DDR.

It's the RAM, also a bad motherboard can really lower 3dmark scores. :t

Ram doesnt make a really major diff in 3dmark.. How your mother board usues this memory is another story... Yes they are right it is most likly the memory... A crappy mother board could mess you over too... I have seen a change in mother boards witht he same cpu ram/video card improve 3d mark score by 1500... The change was from a shuttle ak31 to a soyo dragon..

I have a Tbird 1.4, with a Ti4400 and am getting roughly 8136 when I benchmark.
What OS are you running, have you updated your motherboard drivers? Use Sisoft Sandra to find out your mboard.

No offense but WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes it does on a P4 a huge dif. You are lowering the P4's mem bandwsidth therefore killing its cpu power-its that simple. The P4 was not deseigned to run on anything but RDRAM Intel has said this time and time again to warn you all but hey whatever. SDR is a severly cripling compromise and ddr is the only viable alternative if you just outright hate rambus inc. End of story. so YES mem does make a dif. Do some homework on it -you'll see. A sdr P4 runs ruffly 300-400mhz slower than a rdram solution in cpu power and on the mem end its 1/4th the bandwdith. takes no rocket scientist to see the dif. Guys-gals, dont build/buy a system without doing your research. If you dont know the tech you are building with-ya its gonna such, cause you didnt put enuff effort into researching it. Want good results understand the stuff your putting together or ask us well tell ya. That simple. :t
