Basically I have a celeron 300mhz chip, with cooler and all lying around, it was given me by a friend, however my comp is an old old socket 7, and since I don't have the money nor actually the time to buy and set up a new comp (supposed to be studying for exams), I was wondering if there is any way of connecting such a chip to such a mobo ?.

Anyone here follow the 'nothing is impossible' lifestyle ? http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif.

Thanks.
KKF.

Not using anything less than a blowtorch and sledgehammer http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif And some voodoo...

They
a) are electrically incompatible
b) are physically incompatible
c) require specific BIOS updates

Sorry, KKF.
